HAVENING®

Serving adults, teens, and children throughout New York

"I can't believe how well this worked!"

Maybe you’ve tried methods that worked for others but they didn't work for you... or they made things worse. You might have experiences that are more complex than an isolated incident. Or you might have a tendency to dissociate. Therapy methods that are designed to overwhelm and desensitize you have been counterproductive.

Or maybe you're just not convinced that the solution has to be long and painful. You're right, it doesn't. Sometimes the simplest solutions work the best. And they're often hidden in plain sight.

  • Like so many with complex trauma, you already feel numb so desensitization methods like EMDR and Prolonged Exposure (PE) have been ineffective or even backfired on you.

  • You're an abstract (non-linear) thinker

  • You're not interested in being subjected to more pain than necessary

  • You're not a fan of invasive methods that 'extract information' from you

  • You’re looking for a more time-efficient and cost-effective treatment option

  • I have had 100% success using Havening in my practice.

Why I use Havening:

What Havening is suited for:

  • Crisis and Acute Stress
  • Complex Trauma

  • Removing triggers

  • Dissociation

  • Anxiety Disorders

  • Phobias

  • Panic Attacks

  • Stress Headaches

  • Traumatic memories

  • Grief

What is Havening?

Havening® is a psychosensory method developed by scientists. It engages your body and your mind simultaneously to initiate a naturally occurring neurochemical process (that we all have) to dissolve the pain and improve insight. Havening helps you enlist your potential release pain and stress to the extent that you desire while remaining non-invasive and is often more efficient and safer than aggressive methods.

What to expect

Some treatment methods can feel like you’ve dived into the abyss and you're running out of air, but Havening is like surfing a wave.

You’ll apply soothing touch to your hands, arms, or face. I will help you find the best distractions to combine with Havening touch. Your brain will do some rapid reprocessing and you’ll start to feel better almost immediately. All of this can happen in a single session.

  • Experience rapid relief

  • Discharge stress that has been trapped in the body

  • Gain insight into the unconscious reasons for your triggers

  • Boost your general mood by improving your brain chemistry

  • Obtain closure

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I do Havening on my own?
A: Yes! It's a very beneficial practice, but having a trained, certified practitioner is necessary to help you maximize the benefits as you target specific problems.

Q: Do I have to be touched?
A: Touch is an essential component for Havening but I do not touch my clients. Instead, I encourage clients to apply Havening touch to themselves in the ways that suit them best in the moment.

Q: Is Havening a form of hypnosis?
A: It is not. There are notable differences between Havening and Hypnosis. Engaging in Havening makes you feel more alert and more relaxed, simultaneously. With Havening, you maintain full consciousness and control. And while Hypnosis does not work for everybody, Havening can.

Q: Are there adverse side effects?
A: I have not encountered adverse side effects with Havening but no method can guarantee there will be no side effects. Unlike other methods, Havening does not exacerbate the discomfort you already feel. In some cases, Havening can help uncomfortable memories surface and simultaneously reduce the distress as you continue processing. This makes Havening one of the safest and most efficient treatments available.

" I am very grateful to have found Havening.
I have been dealing with the many effects of childhood trauma for a long time. I have tried many different types of therapies. Havening has helped me to better deal with my stress, and triggers. I felt comfortable with Lantie from the beginning. Our sessions were very professional, supportive and effective. Some very good techniques were taught which I continue to use."   -  Anonymous
